If you are going to download Skype in China, you need to read this:

• Skype cooperates with Chinese gov. It provides a "special" version for users in China, a version that includes backdoor.
• When you access http://www.skype.com in China, you will be redirect to http://skype.tom.com which includes the "special" version Skype.
• Also, the Skype in Apple's AppStore sells in China region is a "special" version.
